MISSION PROJECTS
Faulks Baptist is dedicated to assisting with local, national, and international missions. Some of our projects are ongoing yearly projects while others are based on needs as they arise.
CURRENT PROJECTS!!!
The Help Pregnancy Center in Monroe is in need of new baby clothes to help moms that CHOOSE LIFE. If you feel led, please leave any donations on the table downstairs or mark offering HELP. The greatest need at this time is 0-6 months boys and girls clothing. Due by July 28th.
Our local elementary school, Union, is a Title 1 school in need of various supplies as the school year begins. Principal Deaton has requested help with the following items: Kleenex, expo dry erase markers, ziploc bags in all sizes, glue sticks, & colored pencils.
Several years ago, it was decided among the church family to collect for Operation Christmas Child throughout the year. That first year, our goal was to pack 100 boxes. In 2023, we packed over 225 boxes! Listed below is our monthly donation schedule.
Operation Christmas Child Year Long Collection: Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of your contributions to our missions projects last year. Any item is welcome at all times. Please place all donations in the box under the stairs. PLEASE REMEMBER, ALL ITEMS MUST FIT IN THE STANDARD SHOEBOX!
January – Hats, Gloves, Scarves, Socks
February – Stuffed Animals
March – Tools, Sewing kits, Flashlights, Batteries
April – Games, Puzzles, and Coloring books
May – Hygiene Products: Toothbrushes, Floss, Bar Soap, Combs, Brushes, Deodorant, NO LIQUID ITEMS AND NO TOOTHPASTE.
June – Accessories: Sunglasses, Nail Clippers, Jewelry, Watches, Hairbows, Flip flops, etc
July – Toys for ages 10-14 – – deflated ball with hand pump, yo-yo, etc.
August – School Supplies
September – Toys for ages 2-9 – – hotwheels, harmonica, slinky, Barbie, etc
**Toys should not include any war items, anything with camo, toy guns, etc.
October – Postage Collection….It costs $9 to ship each box. If you normally pack a box, we ask that you give offering for the number of boxes you would pack. This will help offset the cost to the church. 150 boxes x $9 = $1350
November – CHURCH WIDE PACKING EVENT! This will be a chance to come together for fellowship and mission work. A letter from the church will be included in each box. We can add barcodes to each box and track where they are sent!
December – Pray for those receiving boxes and for those making the deliveries!
** A trip to the warehouse in Charlotte will be set at a later date.
Other areas in which we serve or participate:
We serve our local elementary school teachers a meal on the day of their fall festival.
We participate in the Help Pregnancy Center Baby Bottle Campaign.
We collect items for the Donna Pittman Toy Store in November. This store is run by the UBA to serve underprivileged families in our area..
We are always open to other areas of mission work as needed.
